Shiny happy people??????

Well folks we are down to the wire here. The race is close…polls are favoring Kerry for the win…but we all know how reliable polls are. Even so here is a link if one is interested in seeing just how close it has become.

http://www.slate.com/Default.aspx?id=2108751&

I have been following this whole process rather closely and in doing so have came to the conclusion that there is a lot of hate going on. Bush supporters hate Kerry supporters and vise versa. In the midst of all this hate the two parties have resorted to bashing and insulting one another in ways far surpassing past campaigns. Now, everyone is aware of the two parties, Dems and Repubes, but do we really understand what the two parties actually stand for? I mean … does one actually know the definition of democrat and republican? I was thinking this as I was listening to some asshole on one of those crossfire shows this last week. If one has been watching these programs and one wasn’t educated they would be falsely led into believing that for example, a liberal or someone who follows a liberal policy would be considered to be anti-American. Now… how I wonder, can someone who believes that everyone should have the same rights and freedoms, as everyone be anti-American? If one doesn’t believe in war does that also mean you that you also hate your country? Well… if you listen to the conservative views that is exactly what they want you to believe. Or if you listen to the liberals you might be led to believe that conservatives are war mongering, greedy, racist mosters.

So I went in search of the true definition of the parties. I decided to share the following info:

Democrat =an advocate of democracy.

Republican = Favoring a republic as the best form of government.

At the beginning of our beginning when we were starting our new nation we were adopting what would be today’s government and political system. Unless you are a Native American you immigrated to this great country and thus our fore fathers adopted our political system from European systems of government. Unlike Europe, America in the process of enacting a Constitution had developed political beliefs that included economic individualism and the limitation of government power. This was incorporated into the Constitution. This did not follow the beliefs underlying European conservatism but was in fact closer to European liberalism. The American beliefs accepted the concepts of a free market and the personal acquisition of property by individuals. Individual freedoms and property rights were representative of attendant moral, religious, political, and civil rights. As the provisions of the Constitution decreed, the federal government was limited to acting in those areas wherein the states themselves did not have that ability, in inter-state matters and in foreign relations. Great importance was placed on separation of powers, judicial review, and states' rights as opposed to federal power. This then became the foundation of American conservatism. Entering into the 20th century Americans generally accepted these principles that were to carry the conservative label.

However, there was a political movement evolving that could now be endowed with the new label of liberalism, American style, that had beliefs that government should be more involved in social issues and in controlling the free market. Since the economy had become more complex as it expanded, these liberal elements began to support the idea that the government could best promote the interests of its citizens by regulating the economy and having government provide for the welfare of its citizenry. In addition they wanted government to correct economic deficiencies they believed to be caused by unregulated capitalism. They supported progressive taxation, antitrust laws, a minimum wage, social security, public education, safety and health regulations, consumer protection and environmental preservation laws. Some of them became socialists, although not necessarily openly supporting Marxism and communism.

Conservatism -this term conveys the following:

1. A free market and the personal acquisition of property by individuals
2. Individual freedoms and property rights are representative of attendant moral, religious, political, and civil rights.
3. In accordance with the Constitution, the federal government is limited to acting in those areas wherein the states themselves do not have that ability, in inter-state matters and in foreign relations.
4. There is great importance placed on separation of powers, judicial review, and states' rights as opposed to federal power.

Simplified Definition: An ideal conservative believes in the importance of the individual person, including the fetus, and the family structure and that it is the responsibility for the individuals within each family to do as much as they can for themselves before asking for assistance. When assistance is needed the progressive route taken is community, city, county, state and federal, in that order, with the federal government the avenue of last resort. A conservative believes in the least government possible.

Liberalism – this term conveys the following:

1. Government should correct economic deficiencies caused by an unregulated free market economy
2. Government should provide social welfare
3. It is right for government to impose progressive income taxation
4. Government should impose a minimum wage
5. The social security system should remain a system where those working support those who are receiving social security payments
6. Government should support only public education forcibly paid for by taxpayers even though some object to some of the subject matter and the manner in which it is taught.
7. Government should impose stringent safety and health regulations.
8. Government should impose stringent consumer protection and environmental preservation laws.

Simplified definition: An ideal liberal takes the completely opposite position to an ideal conservative, vying for a socialistic form of government working from the top down wherein the freedom of the individual is compromised for the supposed good of the collective group.
Please note that these definitions do not include side issues such as abortion, gun control, immigration, campaign reform etc. Conservatives and liberals may have similar positions without compromising their respective ideal ideology.

In summation, the fundamental difference between a liberal and conservative is whether an individual is allowed the freedom, with attendant responsibility, to freely function in society – or – whether an individual’s interests are subservient to the collective interest of the members of society. One must either be one or the other because once the collective interest takes precedence an individual’s freedom is compromised, and then it just becomes a matter of degree as to the extent. A liberal who compromises his ideal ideology may consider himself a moderate liberal but is still a liberal. It is difficult for a conservative to be a moderate conservative because any compromise involves usurping individual freedom and attendant personal responsibility and this would then tend to define him as a moderate liberal.

Now, are you liberal or conservative?

And whether you choose either or, does it make you less or more American than anyone else? If you believe so, then why? Or for that matter, how could you possibly come to that conclusion?

These are the questions I have been asking myself for the past few months. Watching and reading the opposing sides tear each other apart as they differ on everything under the sun.

Now I myself do not agree with many of the republican views, but just becos they may have a difference of opinion or they may have a different set of ideal doesn’t mean I feel they are any less of an American than mylsef.... or are un-American. I do not HATE them.... but if you listen to the CNN and FOX, anchors you will find out fast enough that this is in fact the way people are treating each other.

From Ann Coulter to Michael Moore.... the 2 parties have chosen their megaphones to tell the masses how evil and ignorant the other sides are.

This is when I ask myslef...cant we all just get along.....?

Or be like Lennon and just IMAGINE?

the answer

HELL NO!!

Hate in politics has turned into big business...and sadly.... it has made the the brightest part of a newscast the gloomy weather report.

reading and writing

Well here I am again getting ready to write another essay on a book I have not yet finished...story of my semester. I have been spending entirely to much time surfing the net.... reading about the election , Kerry and Bush... it’s been quite enlightening to say the least. I have joined a political forum where I can read about anything political. I have to say that the republican or conservatives who post there can be rather… well frightening. I really try not be biased, and look at everything from all angles...I guess that’s due to me being more of an independent than choosing “a” party. I don’t like the current Prez, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t agreed with some of the Republicans in the past.

Anyway...I have been spending too much time at this forum...but I have come across some really good sites in the process. Frontline a newsmagazine, which is run by PBS, was one of them. I have been a fan of Frontline for quite some time now...but I haven’t had a chance to watch any of the programs in the last year or so...I came across their web page and as luck would have it, one can download the shows and watch them off the site...Last night I watched The Choice 2004, which was excellent. Its basically a split biography of Bush and Kerry...from their days at Harvard up until present.... very good. I am waiting to watch Rumsfeld's War, which looks rather good as well.

Okay enough of politics for today...I must write this essay and get some of my daily BS done, and help my little brother with his broken heart. Seems his GF is giving him some grief…

Monday...Manic..just..Another

Well here we are again at the beginning of yet another workweek. The weekend was non-eventful...did some shopping, paid some bills...yadda yadda yadda.I did however receive my bran new stepper I have been waiting on for awhile now...I was quite pleased with it as I did buy it online and you really never know what you are going to get shoppin on the net. So I am back to a workout routine, so nice.Halloween being just around the corner the horror flicks are invading every channel like some plague. Yesterday the Omen was on ALL FREAKIN day.... well all 3 of the movies were on all day...so I am caught up on my anti-Christ sagas for the year..I feel oh so much better about that.I do have one complaint I feel like sharing. My ex.. we shall call the ex Teabag...as Teabag is a limey ...well half limey teabag......anyway Teabag calls me out of the blue from Hong Kong...where Teabag resides..anyho...calls me asking if I will send some sugar substitute...splenda or spendy sugar or something like that.....sure I say why the hell not......So I buy the spendy and ship it off....now I lived in HK for awhile so I know what is and isn't available there....and I have a feeling that if one were to go the American grocer or just do some investigating one might find the spendy, but of course teabag is above this. well the deal was this... that if I send the spendy I in return would get something from HK......stuff I CANNOT buy in the states....
Have I received it? nah
Will I receive it? nah
Was I ever in any danger of receiving anything? nah
Now I am not upset .....as like I said I knew that I wouldn't get anything in return...its the same shit different day type of deal...just thought perhaps the ol' bag may have changed..

Well...

I have learned me lesson and will no longer be sending spendy sugar to Teabag....Teabag can buy Teabags own spendy substitute sugar..
perhaps Teabag should use C&H..might make the bitter bag a bit sweeter. :)

Reality or whatever they are calling it these days...

Ok...so I am watching the tube and I came across VH1’s best week ever. They show these clips of shows ...I guess that's what they are calling them...about swapping kids or taking kids or swapping parents and forcing the kids to live with complete and utter strangers. HUH??????? WHAT THE &^%&^%&^%&^%&???Ok...I know I am a bit behind the times here... I honestly don't indulge myself in reality TV. I watch news.... CNN...Its my thing...Sick I know.... But this is well.... out there. As if our children don't have enough shit to deal with in their everyday lives...Now they are exposing them to complete strangers, camera crews, redicule from the public and numerous other BS. Not to mention that this is all being transmitted into millions of slacker’s living rooms. How far are we going to go with this? Really? What’s next in reality shows?

Pervert Paradise?
Watch my cat use a litter box?
Please watch my insane dysfunctional family (oh that’s been taken).

I have to wonder how many other countries are just LAUGHING at us over here…. wow
If the adults want to indulge in changing residences and spouses, perhaps as a new retro marriage counseling deal...have at it. I mean going on TV for instant fame. (Or instant embarrassment e.g. women who's dogs were left outside FLIPPING THE FUCK OUT..Ouch!)..I mean .If that's your bag....Dive on in.
Have some decency and leave the innocent lil chiluns out of it. I mean leaving them with strangers and God knows what or who will possibly cause them physiological probs……more so than everyday life.

Just my thought on the matter.

Its been Dull

So I haven't posted in awhile as the title states..ITS BEEN VERY DULL! Life just hasn't been all that exciting in me lil life for the past few days. Work is work and home is home....Yahoo! I was doing some surfing though this afternoon and came across a link that I found rather interesting and thought I might share witcha all. We all remember 9/11....it changed all of us in such a profound way. Well I checked out this link about the Pentagon attack and I will let the readers decide. I however found it very enlightening....conspiracy is word that comes to my mind. So that being said (written) why not check it out.
http://www.elchulo.net/files/pentagon.swf

So I spose I will try and write a few papers for school....Business Law and Western Civ. 2 classes that I actually enjoy. I honestly like all of my courses this semester....its just getting the motivation to actually sit down and do the work. Not always that easy when I am taking all of my courses via the Internet..in all actuality that is really the only drawback. How else would I be able to sit in me jammas and eat ice cream while getting a lecture?

With that I shall sign off......I must jet to the store and get some seeds. Its a necessity while I study.

I love the Captain!!

A friend of mine has his own Web site and I have been an avid reader for a few years now. I honestly think he is a brilliant writer and he 's a great guy. I visited his site this morning and WHAMO! what he had written hit me like a... well... it just hit me. I couldn't a agree more with his opinions and thoughts on the current prez , the war in IRAQ, the republicans and allof the other BS going on in the media.for the most part I totally agree with his thought on republicans, I myslef try to have an open mind when it comes to these people .....I know that there has to be a few "decent" repubes out there...I actually know a few, but when I talk to them I am always amazed at their ignorance as they seem to be lost as to the actions of their political party.

Anyway....I read this and thought I should share, I dont want to be greedy.

Thank you Captain !!!!

Have a groovy day!!

Blind Faith

I know a lot of you out there have this Republican blind faith. (You would have to have blind faith to be a republican in the last 20 years.) But here are a few things that you can't argue with. No, no. You can't. These are something we call FACTS. So even if you don't believe them or you are in denial or you just want all the bad internet man to stop talking, you should know that these things will still be true.

FACT: The Republican Leaders have respect for Democracy and they Cheat
Republican National Party hired a company to commit voter fraud.
- It's true, it's already proven in Oregon. Young people are hired to go out on the street and recruit young people to vote. They get a dollar for every two Republicans signed up. They get nothing for anyone else that signs up and are told to just "chuck em".

FACT: Top Republicans say they are for family, but they aren't.
The OH-Reilley Factor, Rush Drugaddict, Sinclair Whorecasting
Bill O'Reilley has said he is being extorted for $60 Million by a woman he sexually harassed repeatedly. He said that she's extorting him, that means he did it.

Rush, third marriage, went deaf from being addicted to hillbilly heroine, caught lying hundreds of times by the likes of Al Franken. He's a great family man, isn't he. Everyone wants an overweight, drug addict that can't hold a marriage together, three times...

Sinclair Broadcasting. Says they report only non-partisan news stories and then they give a pile of money to the GOP. Also, they are running an anti-John Kerry fake-documentary on over 60 stations, pre-empting primetime shows, against the will of most of the stations, and against the laws of using non reported political funds. Oh yeah, and their staunch Republican CEO? Prosecuted for sleeping with hookers while he was married. Good family man.

And George? Can't even finish his duty as a national guardsman. Drug addict daughter, and both daughters arrested multiple times for drinking under age. Just like Daddy. Has been convicted for DWI. Bankrupted ever business he's ever run. Good family man! Unconfirmed reports still running around since he was running in Texas about teenage hookers and drug parties. Only Laura would know I guess, and well, don't get me started about her past...

FACT: Republican Leaders kill people, even unborn babies that they swear to protect.
If your policies kill people for profit, you're still a murderer.
They are anti-abortion and anit-stem cell research? But invitro fertilization is ok, even though it destroys fertilized eggs too. Some stem cell research is ok, but other forms are not. Problem is, they don't have anyone on their team that knows the difference between these things. Of course they spent 2.1 MILLION dollars on PRAYER HEALING research. Yes two point one million dollars, and guess what they discovered. Come on guess. Really, guess what they found out? IT DOESN'T WORK! That money could have helped discover something that saves lives but c'est la vie and you better hope you or your loved ones don't get anything that we need stem cell research to cure.

Every reason for going to war in Iraq WAS A LIE. Every single one. There was no "bad intelligence" except the intelligence in charge of the decision to go there. I've seen pictures of mother's holding their babies to their chest that are burned to death, carbonated like black statues cowering in the streets. I've seen babies without limbs. I've seen a video of a teenage girl pulled from the wreckage of her home in pieces. THE ONLY REASON FOR THE WAR IN IRAQ WAS MONEY. MONEY MONEY MONEY. That's all they wanted.

WMD's? NOPE.

Nuclear Weapons Program? NOPE.

Threat to America (or anyone else)? NOPE.

We'll be liberators welcomed with open arms! NOPE.

To make the world a safer place? NO, IT'S WORSE NOW!

To spread democracy? (A Republican put him in power) and NOPE.

These people are murderers! MURDERERS! They are killing innocent civilians, killing your own relatives and friends who are in the military and creating dire enemies that will or have become terrorists who will kill more people.

THERE WERE NO TERRORIST CELLS WORKING OUT OF IRAQ UNTIL THE USA INVADED IT.

There's a fact for you.

Here's another one. BUSH AND CHENEY KNEW ABOUT 9-11 BEFORE IT HAPPENED.

Here's another one. BUSH CUT SOLDIERS PAY AND VETERAN BENEFITS.

Another? BUSH CUT YOUR OVERTIME PAY.

Could there be more? BUSH LIED ABOUT BEING BORN AGAIN.

Yes, that's a good one. Didn't know that did you? The prayer breakfasts and reading from the bible and blah blah blah, it's all BULLSHIT. He needed to be religious to win when he was running in Texas and his advisor, TOLD HIM that he HAD TO BE A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN to win. So suddenly, just before he announced he was running, was baptized.

. . .

Let's sum this up...

If you are voting for Bush because:

- he supports the troops?
HE DOESN'T.

- he stops unborn babies from being killed?
HE DOESN'T

- he's a good Christian?
HE ISN'T

- he's tough on terror?
HE DIDN'T STOP IT AND HAS MADE IT WORSE

- he's a family man?
NOT A VERY GOOD ONE.

And lastly, I would have to say, if you vote for Bush, you are either an immoral, greedy rich corporate whore or you are the dumbest motherfucker that the United States can produce.

Fahrenheit...... Made me $^#%#^% mad!!

Well folks I finally was able to sit down and watch Michael Moore's F-9/11. I have been wanting to see this film since it was released and I must say I was not disappointed. Having read his book "Dude Where's My Country" I knew what the premise would be for this film. I know that a lot of folks out there don't have a high opinion of Michael Moore but I have to say that I have a lot of respect for him and his work, as a Documentary film maker. I totally recommend this film and I think it should be a must see for EVERYONE regardless of what political party one is associated with. Whether it be Democrat, Republican, or Independent... I personally feel that this film will give a new and fresh perspective on our current situation in Iraq and that of our so called President. This upcoming election is so vital to our country that for me to sit and write all of the reasons why would be to exhausting. I have always felt that Bush is a moron and my feelings were reinforced after watching this film. We as a Americans need to take back our country
and our standing in the world...
4 more years under the Bush regime is a prospect to horrible to even fathom.

SO GO OUT AND VOTE! This coming November...so we as a nation can make the much needed changes.

But (as unsettling as the thought may be) should we be unblessed with this man as our Prez.. again……

Buckle up!

AMERICA and the rest of the WORLD... as

WE WILL ALL be in for a bumpy ride....

Where does all the time go?

Well.... once again I have wasted away another day. I did have good intentions on getting something accomplished e.g. homework, yardwork, laundry, cure for cancer...but needless to say the only things I did accomplish was making home made banana splits and spending more $ on things I really don't need. I shouldn't say I spent $ on things I didn't need.. As I in all actuality I spent the bulk of my cash on my lil bro. I went to the local music store (yes.. amazingly, sometime I still do acquire some of my tunes legally) anyway.... I went to buy a gf of mine a B-D gift and came across a box set from my lil bro's fave band. So what the hell.... instead of my pal, he received the gift. Aint I a daisy?

So now I do believe I will try and get at least one assignment done, so I can at least say my weekend wasn't a total bust.

Tomorrow it’s back to the grind. I am almost euphoric with the anticipation

Today I accomplished...

I have decided I will use this Blog site to get my self acquainted with, well...posting my self "so to speak" until I get my own web site up and running..its still under construction.

So I was trying to get a link on here for anyone interested in a lil shrub humor, but I wasn't to successful so I will just paste it here.....

http://www.bushin30seconds.org/view/2232_small.shtml

I am following the presidential race closely as I am a big Kerry supporter...

I will get into politics a bit later.

I have decided to add my thoughts on the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND Act that our wonderful Prez has put into effect during his time as our Commander in Thief.

According to one report, school officials say the law is not adequately funded, is unfair to special education and non-English speaking students and includes penalties that hurt student achievement.

In a survey involving several schools....
nearly all of the superintendents who responded to the survey agreed that the federal government did not give the state enough money to meet the law's requirements. Sixty percent of principals said they have diverted money from athletics and arts programs to pay for extra costs brought on by the law.

The facts are this..
Under No Child Left Behind, schools that repeatedly fail to meet the law's mandates can face sanctions such as the loss of federal funding. They also can be required to offer extra services such as tutoring, or offer students the chance to attend another school.
Bush is underfunding education. The President cut $200 million from his own No Child Left Behind Act, eliminating crucial educational programs for lower income children and cutting professional training for more than 20,000 teachers. Flawed from its very foundation, No Child Left Behind is based on then-Governor Bush's late-‘90s “Texas Miracle,”—a program of standardized testing designed to increase performance and reduce dropout rates--now recognized as a scandalous failure.

The children are the future of our country. Under Bush's presidency our education system has faltered in so many ways its downright disturbing. This is after only 3.5 years under his watch.

I cannot imagine another 4 years with this man...

Kerry has my vote.

So ......now
I am going to spend this chilly Sat. evening chilin' in front of the tube and browsing through a few textbooks...YEA!

:)

Anyway...I am living in a small town and really just trying to amuse myself and maybe ...who knows... a few others.

I must be off to deposit the ol' cashola in the ol' bank ola'....
